On the farm, work wasn’t just for the adults. The whole family lived here – father, mother, sister and brother – along with all the animals. Together with the farmhands and maids, everyone took part in the daily work.
The boys had to learn to become men, and the girls had to learn to become women. So they were given tasks that taught them about the future. But it would be boring if everything was only about work. Now and then there was also time to play. Come and hear about life on the farm, child labor, and maybe try a traditional farm children’s game.
