The craftsmen
Thatchers, carpenters, joiners – we’ve got it all.
Meet the museum’s specialized craftsmen, who work every day to preserve the historic buildings and experience the traditional techniques.
You may encounter them in their natural habitat – that is, busy repairing, maintaining, and building things around the museum.
Meet the volunteers
The Open-Air Museum’s volunteers bring history to life
You can meet farmers and beekeepers, craftspeople and gardeners, blacksmiths and millers.
They light the forge, cook in the oven, knit with their own wool, grind flour in the mill, tend the gardens, and are happy to answer any curious questions.
