Living danish history for the family near Copenhagen

The Open Air Museum is one of the oldest of its kind in Europe. Since 1901, guests have been able to step into Danish rural history and experience it in natural surroundings. Houses, farms and mills have been carefully taken down and rebuilt at the museum in Kongens Lyngby, where they stand among historic gardens, heritage breeds and old varieties of trees and plants. Guests can also visit The Freddy Frog Face Village, inspired by the playful universe of Danish children’s author Ole Lund Kirkegaard. Here, children of all ages can explore, play and let their imaginations run free.

The Jægersborg-Nærum train stops in Brede close to the north entrance of Frilandsmuseet.
